Meet me in ... Montego Bay, Jamaica
Jamaica has by far been one of my favorite trips thus far! Montego Bay was absolutely breathtaking with such relaxed laid back vibes. I think I enjoyed swimming in the ocean here more than in Thailand!
I visited in the beginning of March the weather was 75-80 degrees everyday and the sun was so bright and warming I left a couple shades darker. Fresh off the plane I got a Curry Chicken Patty from Tastee’s and it was delicious. I wish I had made it there earlier in the day so I could have paired it with fresh baked coco bread which usually sells out by noon. I traveled with a group of young black professionals my friend from undergrad Jeremy brought together with his travel company JMO ent. We had an amazing time and really bonded over the week we were there. This was my first beach vacation where I wore my naturally curly hair sans protective style and my hair really flourished. Here’s how my vacation went…
What I Did
We did a lot of excursions including River rafting on the Martha Brae in Trelawny, and a booze cruise and snorkeling in St. James. The beach day at Doctor’s Cove was so wonderful and relaxing I stayed in the water so long and ended up getting sun burnt! While we were there BritJam, an international party event, had just started so the night life was a lot of fun. My favorite night was the Neon party at Pier 1.
What I Ate
I feel like I stuffed myself with Jerk Chicken, rice & peas, and festival all weekend. I ate so great and had no worries! The food was amazing especially in Falmouth, Jamaica. Scottchie’s was also delicious I had the best jerk chicken wings from there.
